Happy Birthday GeoCorp.

    by: Riu Stuka
Hello my fellow corpmates,

today our great corp turns 2 years old. We seen alot of ups and downs in the 2nd year of our existence. It started out with members leaving in anger and we had to give up our newly aquired Jumpfreighter at that time too. Last year at this time there has been alot bad stuff and it didnt look too well. But we had this before and we again stood up and said together we can stand for a greater goal and be strong.

So we started to rebuild from what we had once more. We focused recruitment more on quality then quantity and we tried to build us a new infrastructure. As i browse through our forums there is so much that has happened back then. We got some new dedicated people into our ranks and things started to work out once more. It went so well that we even were able to finance us a new Jumpfreighter which set stone for a strong logistic base and an easy way to import & export goods to/from 0.0.

With the logistic base set we finally worked on getting more POS's into 0.0. The plan was formulated for 2 reason: 1st to make us more monthly income (and sadly more work :)) and second to further help secure sovereignity in 4BZ-R3. In november we finally made it and raised an additional 2 Large towers, 2 medium and 1 small in our constellion. Our new moon chain was ready.

With the winter expansion and the release of the Orca class vessel we were on the look for one for our 0.0 logistics and supporting our mining ops. We were able to make a purchase in december and added the orca classed vessel "Free Willy" to our growing corp fleet.

In January needs arised for a safe haven in low-sec to use as logistic end point and jump gate to highsec. Cynoing into the gate at Yong proved more and more a securtiy issue as we lost some cyno ships and exposed our Jumpfreighter to the growing numbers of reds. Therefor it was decided to add a POS into Yong. The trouble with this plan: There were no free moons inside Yong and Gemodi was a higher security level so we would need charters and standings.

Browsing through the Yong moons several times we found a POS from a neutral corp beeing offline for weeks. We tried to message the CEO and asked fro removal of the POs but got no reaction. A plan was formed, so one evening i approached CVA diplos and aksed for permission to remove the neutral tower. After a stasis period of one more week we finally got the go and planned an alliance Op.

The tower removing was quite unspectacular, we formed a BS heavy gang and went into lowsec and agressed the POS. We had Kemichal supportin the fleet in his carrier and after 3 long hours we were able to kill the tower. It was at once replaced with a Small tower from GCOR. This tower got replaced later by a medium TS tower with quite some defence to stand its own in this rather exposed territory.
In the later held Operation "Free Yong" the tower was a secure haven for our alliance mates and point for the corp logistic housing our combat ships and replacement ammo.

From January on our internal departments got some love also. Alot of people helped with rebuilding them and we finally started to get things going again. We later started to perform ice ops in INQ to help with the fueling and the manufacturing chains again were put to good use. We since then continue to grow in building and trading and have created a nice pile of money that recently allowed us some investments like replacing 1 tower in QBl with a faction tower.

As said before the building department growed and more people are dedictaed to it, therefor the projects itself grow. We recently startet to build drakes and harbingers and battleships are also in planing giving us some nice income and fill the local market.

With our growing funds we were now open to invest in several project such like the interdictor replacement on alliance level. When PXIN couldnt handle this alone anymore corporations where asked to each replace one type of interdictor. GeoCorp was first to step up and we choosed to replace the Eris.
The programm is now running for a month and everyone is quiet pleased how it turned out. The alliance mates gets theire dictors replaced with a basic module set and we add our share to the alliance and make usself a known and valued entity within the Federation.

As you can see alot happened for us in our 2nd year of existence. We worked ourself up to a stable corporation from beeing at the bottom once more. I already wrote alot now and i guess you guys get tired reading :) but i wanna give you all an isnight where we are heading.

In the future we want to reinvest o good portion of our ISK in replacing the starbases we own with faction towers and keep reserves for when good oppertunities (aka good moons) arise.
Also the topic of one or two corp owned dreads is still a hot one and with a growing fund base we will surely invest into this type of capital ship aswell.

The manufacturing department told me of big plans aswell and i think that already shows of with the constant output of battlecruiser and soon battleships, and maybe they can advance to bigger stuff in the future.

Regarding growing we atm still try to extend our pvp base as this was somehow lacking a bit. But with the recruitment of new guys we fixed that already into a postiive direction and hope to add some more pvp-fu over time to our corporation. Our member owned capital fleet seems to grow aswell and just yesterday the deployment of the Thanatos classed vessel "BSG 75 - Galactica" owned by me was the first combat deployment of a GeoCorp capitcal in a CVA operation.

As you all see we are on the right path into a glorious future and i want to thank all the people who worked hard for this corp to archive this. Leadership is very pleased with the general dedication members are showing and the overall progress of the corp. As i always say when we work together we are strong and can archive almost everything on the corp level.

Ok enough written. Just leaves me to say one more time thank you and lets move into that glorious future together as a corp with one strong backbone, you the members.

So say we all
